Story — The Gap Between Knowing and Living
Verse 1
I saw it clear in the daylight,
Every thought just passing through,
No one there behind the curtain,
No controller pulling strings in view.
I could say it, I could teach it,
Lay it out in black and white—
But my body told a different story
In the middle of the night.
Pre-Chorus
When the tension slowly tightened,
And the breath began to fall…
Chorus
’Cause the body takes its time,
It don’t change because I see,
It’s been learning for a lifetime
What it thinks it needs to be.
And I don’t have to rush it,
Don’t have to force it right—
Truth can be already present
While the system learns it slow and quiet.
Verse 2
Neck pulled tight without permission,
Thought said “this should disappear,”
Then another came in heavy—
“If you knew, this wouldn’t be here.”
And I almost tried to fix it,
Almost turned it into war—
But something softer stayed my movement,
Let it be just like before.
Pre-Chorus
Watched the sequence play out gently,
Didn’t add another fight…
Chorus
’Cause the body takes its time,
It don’t shift on what I know,
It updates in quiet moments
When I let the tension show.
No command can override it,
No idea can make it right—
But truth is still already present
While it learns through lived insight.
Bridge
Not broken, not behind,
Just a pattern unwinding,
Not a failure of seeing—
Just a different kind of timing.
Final Chorus
Yeah, the body takes its time,
And that’s something I can trust,
Not because I understand it—
But because it simply must.
And I don’t need to push it forward,
Don’t need to win the fight—
Everything is already okay…
While it catches up to what is right.
